Platform Statement: Part I

1. If elected to this position, what will you attempt to accomplish that will help to meet the strategic goals of the Association? (1500 characters or less)
I would like to provide more opportunities for professional development  to graduate and professional student advisors.  Building on the current facebook page through NACADA I would like to use that as one platform to providing those additional resources.  I think we have a good community of people who continue to contribute to overall success of the graduate and profession student advisors group and students.  I want to bring our community professionally to the next level.

Platform Statement: Part II

2. Describe an accomplishment on your own campus or within NACADA of which you are proud. What do you believe your accomplishment demonstrates about your abilities as a leader? (1500 characters or less)
I was recently selected as the Advisor of the Year at Webster University.  We have many accomplished advisors in our office and this award was reflective of my inclusive approach and my ability to work cohesively across different departments on campus to assist students.  Myself and a co-worker were selected to be speakers at the Missouri Advising Association state conference. Our presentation titled "Advising on an Island" included information on how to grow professionally in the age of the budget crunch.  We were selected as best in conference and my colleague and I will go on to present at the NACADA region 7 conference in San Antonio, TX.  This accomplishment demonstrates my ability to be relevant on current issues in advising and collaborate in a small group.

Platform Statement: Part III

3. Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position or what influenced you to run for this leadership position? (1500 characters or less)
I would like to use my talents to further NACADA through this committee.  I feel that the Graduate and Professional Students Community have made great strides and I want to continue to further those accomplishments.  I am an approachable and accessible leader and feel that my skills would be an asset to this committee and NACADA.

Platform Statement: Part IV

4. Please describe how you will work to promote the enhancement of inclusivity throughout (or within) the association. (1500 characters or less)
Using free platforms such as Facebook to promote professional development is inclusive of those who may be under funded at this time.  Promoting these types of opportunities through current group members would help everyone feel included in the discussion. I also think continuing the sponsorship of work and sessions is important, as was done at the national conference this year.

Platform Statement: Part V

5. Outline your past involvement in NACADA:
     a. Years in NACADA
     b. National Offices Help and Accomplishments Achieved

I have been a member of NACADA since February 2016.  I have been an active member of the Graduate and Professional Students Advising Community since joining in 2016.  I attended two national conferences, in 2016 and 2017.  I will be a presenter at the NACADA Region 7 Conference in 2019.  I was the Academic Advisor of the year in 2018 at Webster University.
