Community Chairs are elected by their Community members and provide leadership for Community activities in support of the profession by representing its members and their needs and concerns through the Division Representatives and communicating with the members. Community Chairs coordinate community activities and lead Community meetings during the Annual Conference. Community Chairs report to the Division Representatives for the Advising Communities Division (ACD). Career Advising Chair - (elected, term October 2019-October 2021). Prior to taking office, candidates must have completed the previous year as a member in the Community and be a current member in that group.

Platform Statement: Part I

1. If elected to this position, what will you attempt to accomplish that will help to meet the strategic goals of the Association? (1500 characters or less)
If elected to this position I would attempt to accomplish to expand and communicate the needs of industry and student to obtain a successful job.  As an advisor we are the primary person students come to for various advice and we can provide the tools for them to be successful it is my hope that we can facilitate discussions and provide resources for advisors to use and share with their students.

2. Describe an accomplishment on your own campus or within NACADA of which you are proud. What do you believe your accomplishment demonstrates about your abilities as a leader? (1500 characters or less)
An accomplishment that I am most proud of is working on my PhD with an emphasis in career readiness.  While this has been a passion of mine for some time I am preparing myself to become the expert in career readiness to help others become the best they can be to secure the dream job.  I believe my accomplishments demonstrates my ability to multitask as an employee and a student.  This has allowed me to gain site into a student perspective, as well as a academic advisor.

3. Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position or what influenced you to run for this leadership position? (1500 characters or less)
I am interested in serving in this leadership position because I have a passion to share my interests and research with other advisors to help the students they work with and gain from other best practices advisors experience.  While this statement may seem simplistic is a passion to share what I know with others so we can make our profession the best it can be.

4. Please describe how you will work to promote the enhancement of inclusivity throughout (or within) the association. (1500 characters or less)
I would work to promote the enhancement of inclusivity throughout the association by providing information to all parties involved in the process.  Communication is key as many of us have heard time and time again, and couldn't ring more true.  As advisors it is key to share our best practices and experiences to enhance inclusion through the association from our members to directors and students we work with we can use the information shared to provide the best information to everyone.
