Abstract:
What does it take to develop a strategy that can help your advising office or division achieve success in the current turbulent environment? How can you move from having a plan to putting the plan into action and achieving the outcomes you desire? These are common challenges not only for advising leaders, but all leaders. Having a plan does not necessarily make enacting the plan possible or easy. This is largely because strategic planning and strategic leadership are two separate skills. The practices of strategic planning must be aligned with the principles of strategic leadership to truly bring life to our planning work. In this workshop participants will learn the principles that both ground and give life to the traditional practices of strategic planning through discussion and application-oriented activities.
