Abstract:
|
First-generation students navigate a world full of hidden rules, high expectations, and unspoken barriers-but they arrive to college with resilience, motivation, and untapped potential. This interactive session invites participants to engage with real student voices, uncover common barriers, and practice strengths-based approaches to foster belonging. Through hands-on activities like narrative reframing, 'Belonging Mapping,' and redesigning campus interactions, participants will identify actionable strategies to make school spaces more inclusive. Attendees will leave ready to implement at least one practical change in their own role, helping first-gen students thrive. |
