Abstract:
|
Whether we are called counselors, navigators, mentors, coaches, advisors, or something else, our roles extend beyond simply enrolling students in classes. We must incorporate relational elements into advising, including deeper conversations about transfer opportunities, financial issues, non-academic concerns, and career guidance. No matter our title, our job descriptions must be revised to reflect new responsibilities and expectations. To meet these evolving demands, new and improved professional development programs must be created. |
