Abstract:
|
As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more prevalent in academic advising, advisors must critically examine how these tools impact equity, inclusion, and student relationships, particularly for international students. This session explores AI-enhanced advising through the NACADA Academic Advising Core Competencies Model, emphasizing human-AI collaboration rather than automation-driven replacement. Participants will examine common AI applications in advising, consider ethical and cultural implications for international student populations, and identify strategies for maintaining relational, inclusive advising practices in hybrid models. Through applied examples and guided discussion, attendees will gain practical insights into aligning AI use with NACADA values while supporting international student belonging and success. This session is ideal for advisors and administrators seeking thoughtful, equity-centered approaches to AI integration in advising. |
