Abstract:
|
Remote Academic Advising (RAA) has evolved from an emergency measure to a 'new norm' in the post-pandemic era. But does this shift serve all students? Who is falling through the cracks? This session presents findings from a quantitative study of 527 undergraduates that challenge the 'digital native' narrative. Data indicates a strong student preference for a 'hybrid middle'-valuing RAA flexibility without sacrificing in-person connection. Unexpectedly, findings reveal a digital divide for students aged 27-29, who reported significantly lower technological confidence and access than younger and older peers. Participants will discover these demographic disparities and how 'one-size-fits-all' policies on Remote Academic Advising (RAA) practice may inadvertently exclude non-traditional learners. Join us to learn evidence-based strategies for building inclusive and hybrid advising models that truly meet students where they are. |
