Abstract:
|
'And I know it's long gone and that magic's not here no more... And I might be okay, but I'm not fine at all...'
Has your relationship with advising ever felt like a poignant Taylor Swift lyric? Has the love affair of advising ever maimed you too? Yeah, we know that feeling all too well. Yeah, us too.
This session will focus on the crux of caring, continuing conversation from last year's conference. In Las Vegas, the following questions were raised, "If we could, what would you replace caring with? Is caring the best fit?". This session picks up where that conversation left off - is caring the right word for our advising practice; if not what other words better articulate our relational work? How could the current definition, which focuses on others with no mention of self, be updated?
Join us to not feel like "crumpled up piece(s) of paper lying here". |
