Abstract:
|
We all know advising is hard work, but we don't all struggle for the same reasons. The 'Guardian Angel' burns out from empathy fatigue; the 'Human Wikipedia' burns out from decision fatigue; and the 'Visionary' burns out when reality crushes their dreams. In this high-energy, interactive session, we will ditch the generic 'eat well and sleep more' advice. Instead, you'll take a fun, pop-culture-style quiz to identify your Advising Spirit Animal. We will explore the unique stress triggers of each type and, more importantly, the specific boundaries you need to set to survive the semester. Come for the laughs, stay for the sanity check. |
