Abstract:
|
This session invites attendees to move From Tip-Off to Takeoff: Starting a Peer Advising Program That Brings the Thunder. Using an energetic OKC Thunder theme, presenters will guide participants through the full development of a peer advising program, from identifying the institutional 'why' to launching and sustaining a high-impact initiative. Participants will explore how to build a compelling proposal, design an effective training and supervision model, and integrate peer advisors into existing advising structures. The session will also highlight practical assessment strategies, including qualitative student feedback and quantitative meeting data, to demonstrate program impact and inform continuous improvement. Whether starting from scratch or refining an existing model, attendees will leave with a clear game plan, practical tools, and actionable strategies to create a peer advising program that energizes their office and elevates student success. |
