Abstract:
|
In this concurrent session, a large, Canadian research university shares lessons from the Academic Advising Training Program (AATP), a professional development initiative grounded in a structured competency framework. Using cohort evidence from participant assessments, reflections, and feedback, we will spotlight which competencies show the strongest growth and where advisors consistently seek support. We will also highlight several high-impact learning activities (e.g., scenario-based practice, role-play, visioning) and why advisors found them impactful. Participants will leave with practical insights to inform one next action they can take to support advisor development at their institution. If you are considering how to support advisor development at your institution, this session is for you! |
