Abstract:
|
This session introduces a liberatory advising model that aligns with the 2026 conference theme by centering relationship, belonging, and purpose as core drivers of student success. Drawing on insights from Relational Intelligence, The Slow Professor, Rest is Resistance, and Take Your Seat at the Table, the session explores how relationally intelligent, rest-informed, and reflective advising practices create environments where students feel seen, supported, and connected to possibility. Participants will examine strategies for deepening trust, addressing identity-related barriers, and integrating humane pacing into advising conversations. Through practical tools and real-world scenarios, attendees will learn how advisors, particularly those working with diverse and historically marginalized populations can hold the door open for equity, belonging, and sustained student engagement. |
