Abstract:
|
Understanding and adapting to diverse personality types is crucial for fostering student success in higher education. This session explores a variety of strategies for enhancing student engagement and navigating complex interpersonal dynamics. Participants will learn to tailor their approach to different communication styles, adjust in real time to evolving conversations, and use targeted, open-ended questions to guide discussions productively. Drawing from personal experiences as a tall and athletic male advisor with a background in athletic coaching, the presentation highlights techniques for managing conflicts and fostering positive interactions with a wide range of student profiles. By leveraging the Success Coaching Model, attendees will learn how to create an empowering environment that encourages open dialogue and supports students in navigating challenging academic and personal conversations. |
