Abstract:
|
This interactive session promotes advisor well-being through creative expression and community engagement. Advisors support students academically, emotionally, and personally, yet often neglect their own restorative practices. Participants will explore the connection between creativity, stress reduction, and sustainable advising. Facilitators will provide a selection of simple craft materials (e.g., paper, yarn, markers), and attendees are encouraged to bring additional supplies they enjoy using or would like to share. Through hands-on activities and guided small- and large-group discussions, participants will reflect on mindfulness, relational advising, and professional balance. The session emphasizes practical, low-cost self-care strategies that can be integrated individually or into campus initiatives. Participants will leave with renewed energy, concrete self-care tools, and ideas for fostering community and sustainability in their advising practice, strengthening their capacity to care for themselves while supporting others. |
