Title: From Metrics to Meaning: Designing Interactive Advising Data Tools
Data dashboards are only as effective as the data and advising practices that inform them. This session examines how one advising team built the groundwork necessary to develop a Power BI dashboard designed for daily use. The session will focus on the intentional selection of actionable data and the design principles behind a dashboard built to support advisor workflow, caseload prioritization, and proactive outreach. Participants will explore how to distinguish informative data from actionable data and how to align analytics tools with institutional goals. Attendees will leave with a framework for identifying meaningful student success and risk indicators at their institutions that support sustainable, data-informed interventions. |
