Abstract:
|
Practice Matters: Advisor Lunch Exchange is an advisor-driven professional development initiative designed to create accessible space for proven practice exchange, innovation, and peer learning. While many institutions offer large-scale programs focused on broad information sharing, advisors often lack smaller venues to pilot research ideas, share emerging practices, and test conference presentations in a supportive environment.
Developed as a grass roots idea, focused on peer to peer learning, the Advisor Lunch Exchange provides a low-cost, structured yet informal forum where advisors present works-in-progress, innovative practices, and research ideas to colleagues. The model reduces barriers to participation, fosters collegial dialogue, and encourages contributions to the profession of academic advising.
This poster session outlines the program's development and structure, shares examples and participant feedback, and offers practical guidance for replication on other campuses. |
