Abstract:
|
Jesu-what?! This panel session invites NACADA members to learn about how advisors and administrators from three Jesuit-affiliated institutions across the United States utilize their university's mission to advise students, create programming, and oversee departments. Panelists will highlight a key pillar of the Jesuit mission, cura personalis or 'care for the whole person', and their experiences integrating it into their respective roles. Additionally, panelists will illustrate how mission-driven advising can be applied at any institution and how university missions and values can provide a framework for holistically supporting students and facilitating institutional goals. Whether you work at a secular or religious university, let's 'meet in the middle' to become empowered and equipped to connect people, purpose, and possibility through mission-driven advising. |
