Title: LOLIPoP: A Delectable Process to Aid Advising Leadership with Task Bandwidth
Lead Presenter: Kerry Armbruster
Date: December 31, 1969    Time: 6:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Room:
Abstract: Advisors have a lot to do on a daily basis. Would it not be great to improve task bandwidth so that everything can get done in a personably timely manner? There is no one solution for perfect improvement in a certain context, but the improvement process can be more perfectly practiced when stakeholders have a way to think through ideas systematically. To this end, the LOLIPOP acronym (Leadership theory, Organization, Learning, Inquiry, Problem of Practice) may help advising administrators and their advisors discover new ideas that can benefit discussions regarding task bandwidth. Attention is given to leadership theory with specific focus on emotionally intelligent leadership and adaptive leadership. The session aims to examine how theory can be a middling ground for productive conversations with people from differing backgrounds who believe in similar possibilities.
