Abstract:
|
In today's rapidly evolving workplace, academic advising teams often span multiple generations, each bringing distinct perspectives, work styles, and communication preferences. This diversity can enrich collaboration and innovation, but it also requires intentional leadership to avoid misunderstandings and ensure cohesion. Advising administrators play a vital role in creating environments where Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z professionals can succeed together.
This interactive panel session will explore practical strategies for leading and motivating multigenerational advising teams. Panelists - experienced supervisors from varied institutional contexts - will share approaches they use to improve communication, build trust, and promote meaningful collaboration across age groups. Through reflection, discussion, and a Q&A segment, attendees will gain actionable insights to enhance their supervisory practice and support dynamic, high-performing intergenerational advising teams. |
