Advising Incarcerated Scholars: Resources for Student Support and Empowerment
Navigating Forward is a collection of free, student-facing, institutional-neutral college access resources developed to meet the needs of incarcerated and justice-impacted learners. These resources were created in response to the reinstatement of Pell eligibility for incarcerated individuals and reflect lessons learned from nearly 15 years of facilitating college programming inside of prison facilities and advising incarcerated scholars. Join members of the team that created Navigating Forward to learn what's included in the collection, strategize about how to incorporate these resources in your program, and explore practical guides for fostering student engagement.This session will offer both a high level view of what students and college programs will gain through the use of these resources, as well as examples of more granular, practical strategies for resource implementation. |
