Abstract:
|
Music is a language that binds us. From any generation to geographic location, music helps people communicate with each other and come together. This presentation suggests that using the language and lyrics of popular musicians can help us to organize our advising sessions and create contagious connections. We will discuss how 'Sparks Fly' when music inspires student engagement and even explore how to incorporate music into advising appointments which are 'Delicate.' You'll leave with a piece of lyric-themed art to hang in your office and with the rejuvenation that comes from being able to, in the words of Taylor, 'get down to this sick beat' of music-inspired advising. |
