Abstract:
|
Advising administrators operate between competing demands: supporting advisors through emotionally complex student interactions while upholding institutional standards. Navigating this 'middle' space requires more than conflict management; it requires a developmental coaching approach. This session reframes advisor supervision as a growth-focused practice rather than just performance management. Participants will explore a practical four-part coaching framework for guiding advisors through policy tensions, student escalations, and performance conversations. The session will provide clear language tools and a structured supervisory approach that strengthens advisor development, accountability, and psychological safety in high-pressure advising environments. |
