Abstract:
|
Student success is OUR success, which is institutional success! Retention is not just about keeping students enrolled; it is about empowering, encouraging, and creating student agency. In this presentation, we argue that the institutional data-driven perspective of retention should shift to one that prioritizes student success first and foremost. The Academic Recovery Initiative, which we prioritize, provides an excellent foundation to maintain academic success, enhance self-agency, and build professional proficiency. As a result of proactive, holistic intervention, students are more likely to matriculate from semester to semester, make progress towards their degrees, and ultimately, graduate. Shared responsibility and shared success are what this initiative aims to demonstrate. |
