Abstract:
This panel brings together men of color who serve as Academic Advisors and administrators at Predominantly White Institutions (PWIs) to share their lived experiences navigating higher education and in the advising space. Through personal storytelling, panelists will highlight both challenges and sources of strength while working in environments where they are often underrepresented.
The session centers not only on speaking but also on listening, creating space for participants to connect, reflect, and recognize shared experiences. Attendees will engage in dialogue that fosters solidarity, community, and mutual support among Black, Indigenous, and other men of color in advising and student affairs roles. |
