Abstract:
|
Academic advising is meaningful and rewarding work, yet often complex and demanding, contributing to staff fatigue, turnover, and shifting team dynamics. Just as student belonging is essential to success, advisor belonging is critical to team stability, morale, and effectiveness. This session explores ways to utilize Appreciative Inquiry (AI) as a strengths-based supervisory framework for cultivating advisor belonging -the 'other AI.' Participants will explore how supervisors can move beyond problem-focused management to practices that amplify team strengths, encourage shared innovation, and build collective purpose. |
