Abstract:
|
This session offers a comprehensive overview of the development of an internship program to provide career development opportunities for interns in a higher education setting, as well as the introduction of fostering an environment of peer mentorship and community to students on campus. This session will review the necessary steps to establish department partnerships to become an internship site, as well as highlighting the measurement of the impact and its sustainability through utilization of a learning management system. The learning management system is intended to maintain effective communication between leadership and interns, draft and provide assignments designed for interpersonal and career development, track progress of projects throughout the semester, and maintain accountability. By the conclusion of the session, attendees will be able to design, implement, evaluate, and establish a successful internship program. |
