Abstract:
|
Undergraduate students frequently face challenges in selecting their major. They seek academic advising to understand their degree options. In a parallel manner, career counselors may be having similar conversations but from a career exploration perspective. In an effort to serve the student more holistically, academic advising and career services colleagues worked together to create a workshop tailored to synthesizing the most important pieces of the career selection conversation. By partnering together, staff could recognize the overlap and build a very solid and balanced workshop. Knowing the university processes as well as the career implications allows students to make better decisions, and to move forward into a new graduation plan with confidence. Attendees will receive an overview of the workshop's development, as well as a full review of the workshop and materials we developed. |
