Abstract:
|
Improving transfer student success requires more than new policies or technologies-it demands disciplined, system-level problem solving. This session introduces Improvement Science as a practical framework for advancing transfer advising outcomes, using lessons from the National Association of Higher Education Systems (NASH) Transfer Networked Improvement Community (NIC). Participants will explore how institutions collaboratively define problems of practice, test change ideas through Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles, and scale effective strategies across diverse contexts. Through case examples and guided reflection, attendees will learn how to translate Improvement Science principles into actionable advising practices within their own institutions. Designed for advisors, directors, and senior leaders, this session bridges theory and application, offering a structured approach to moving from persistent transfer challenges to measurable improvement. |
