Abstract:
|
In an era where digital tools and learning technologies are increasingly embedded in higher education, academic advisors face both the opportunity and the challenge of integrating technology in ways that are effective, intentional, and philosophically grounded. This session will connect learning theory, advising approaches, and purposeful technology use to support advisors in navigating this evolving landscape. You will be invited to examine your advising philosophy and identify the foundational learning theories and advising approaches that shape your practice. We will then explore how these same learning theories can guide intentional technology integration in advising and learning contexts. The session will conclude with time for you to begin drafting a 'role of technology in advising' statement to possibly incorporate into your advising philosophy. |
