Abstract:

In an era where digital tools - such as advising management systems, communication platforms, early alert tools, and AI-supported resources - are increasingly embedded in higher education, advisors face both opportunities and challenges in using technology intentionally and effectively. This session is designed for advisors at all experience levels who want to better align technology use with their advising values. Drawing on a background in learning design and technology, the facilitator will explore how learning theories, technology evaluation frameworks, and advising approaches intersect in advising practice. Participants will examine how these foundations can guide decisions about selecting and integrating digital tools. Through guided reflection and discussion, attendees will consider their advising philosophy and its alignment with their current and future use of technology. |
