Abstract:
|
Come and learn how to advise your students about Speech-Language Pathology, an in-demand and growing profession for medically, educationally, and linguistically inclined students. We will cover the basics of SLP careers, with settings that range from hospitals to schools to private practices. Areas of practice include swallowing, augmentative and alternative communication, stroke and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, in addition to school-based speech and language therapy. We will also discuss program prerequisites and applicant competitiveness, graduate school admission processes, and the structure of master's programs. By the end of our session, you will be able to explain the field to interested students and advise them on competitive graduate school applications. |
