Abstract:
|
In the wide-open terrain of higher education, academic and career services often travel parallel paths-close, but not quite converging. As institutions seek to integrate these services, they face familiar obstacles: scaling programs, sharing knowledge across departments, and navigating organizational silos. This session explores how the often-overlooked Employer Services team can serve as a bridge between these advising worlds and potential employers. Presenters transitioned from employer engagement roles to student-facing advising and will share strategies for using career fairs, mock interviews, and employer connections to enrich advising conversations. Attendees will gain practical tools for collaboration, learn how to incorporate employer insights into student development, and discover scalable models for shared programming. Whether you're new to integration efforts or looking to deepen your approach, this session offers a fresh perspective from the crossroads of advising. |
