Get in the Game! A Holistic Support Program for Student-Athletes at a Private HBCU
College student-athletes, particularly Black individuals, encounter the challenge of balancing academic pursuits with high-level sports performance. Alarmingly, Black student-athletes exhibit the lowest six-year graduation rates compared to other racial groups. Recognizing the unique challenges arising from their dual identity and societal stigmatization, it is crucial to implement evidence-based and culturally sensitive success support programs. This session aims to enhance your comprehension of student success coaching tailored for student-athletes and provide insights into strategies, systems, and measurements applicable to this distinct population.
