Connect, Inspire, and Support: A Nursing School's Pre-Immersion Program to Enhance Student Success
In response to rising student needs, a school of nursing created a pre-immersion program to support student success. Informed by research, the program aimed to assist students in acclimating to the rigor of a nursing program by equipping them with crucial skills, fostering community, and introducing them to the nursing profession. Activities focused on 'finding their why', professionalism, career exploration, goal setting, and developing a level of comfort with the faculty and staff. This presentation delves into the program's development, and its potential for adaptation in other fields, and encourages discussion on integrating similar initiatives to empower students and enhance success and retention. |
