Abstract: Building an Advising Community Across Campus

Creating a sense of advising community is part of our university culture. This presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of how our centralized office functions to support a decentralized advising community. The session will discuss the creation of our comprehensive advising onboarding and training program, and how we supplement this training program with regular and ongoing workshops (in person and virtual). We will share how to combine social and professional development activities each semester to create opportunities for involvement. The session will also cover our assessment strategy to evaluate the impact that we have had.
