Abstract:
|
'Transformational Leadership Skills for Advising Administration' is a session for current or aspiring advising administrators who want to learn about their own leadership strengths and skills. A transformational leadership style creates connections, raises motivation, and involves processes that change people and organizations with long-term goals and standards. It is highly effective towards creating advising redesign. In this session, we will review a case study from an R1 institution and student success advising leader who utilizes this style of leadership. We will discuss specific skills in the transformational leadership style and engage participants in self-reflection to learn about their own capacity. Last, we will encourage small and large group dialogue about how the factors of transformational leadership could be assets for their own contexts. |
