What Hat Did You Wear Today? The Many Roles of an Academic Advisor
Whether it is taking on the role of a teacher, a tough guy, surrogate parent, counselor, or cheerleader, the importance of knowing the many roles and tones academic advisors might have to take on cannot be overstated. In this engaging session, we will explore how to conduct various advising appointments while sometimes wearing more than one hat at a time. By the end of this interactive session, attendees will have a better understanding of the many roles needed to be played to be an effective advisor to a diverse student population. |
