Abstract:
|
Crafting an Accelerated Advising Pathway
Regardless of whether a student is beginning their college journey at a 2-year or 4-year institution, accelerated credits earned through examination or dual enrollment contribute to first-year course advisement. Presenters will share the development and implementation of an advising program that fast-tracks a student's first year toward early entry into a university's upper-division program, in one year or less.
Presenters will illustrate how to gauge the interest of high school seniors as ideal prospects for an accelerated graduation program, meet individually with identified prospects, and create an academic plan through completion of a transfer Associate of Arts degree.
Presenters will describe the whole process, what the first-year outcomes of an accelerated program were at their institution, and how fine-tuning the process from year one to year two improved overall results. |
