Abstract: What is the Enneagram and can it be useful in academic advising?

Personality awareness via inventories or typology is not a new concept, learning about one's inner workings is fascinating and can be used in very beneficial ways. The Enneagram is a tool that has gained followers and is being used in many settings. So, what exactly is the Enneagram and is it useful in higher education? This session will cover a brief history of the Enneagram model, an introduction to the 9 defined personality types, current research and use of Enneagram concepts, and practical ways that this knowledge can help you relate to colleagues and students.
