Using Major Neighborhoods to Help Exploratory Students Successfully Make their Major Decision
Choosing a major can be a daunting decision and it can be challenging to navigate a dizzying array of choices from an alphabetical list. Come learn how our university implemented meta-majors designed to help students choose a program. This approach of combining Holland Code analysis and student's interests provides structure, support, and a strategy for simplifying choices. By implementing meta-majors and proactive interventions, we contributed to increasing persistence of Exploratory students and increasing the number of students declaring majors. |
