Abstract: It's your first day of work. What does this look like? Are you pointed to an office, handed a key, and told 'get to work - the manual is on the shelf', or are you welcomed at the door and introduced to your team, starting your concierge training experience? The onboarding and training process is essential to the retention and success of new employees. This session provides strategies, examples and resources to improve your onboarding and training. At the conclusion of the session you will learn how to:
- Create a welcoming environment for new employees
- Develop a flexible comprehensive training, which includes: onboarding, content training, the art of advising, and the opportunity to practice with guidance
- Collect feedback, assess and implement continuous improvement
Participants will take away specific ideas, resources, and examples to implement immediately.
