Title: Real Talk w/ Real Time Data: Advising Nontraditional Adults in Teacher Apprenticeships
Lead Presenter: Ko Kim
Date: December 31, 1969    Time: 6:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Room:
Abstract: We are a pioneering university in the United States, focused on innovative apprenticeship programs. Within just four years, our undergraduate enrollment has surged from 68 to 1,600, with a total of 1,825 job-embedded candidates served across multiple states (average age 34, ~60-percent Pell Grant eligible). Despite this rapid expansion, retention rates remain high, surpassing industry averages. A key factor in this success is our partnership with Ribbon Education, a low-cost student success platform available to manage the complexities of serving nontraditional students.

Leveraging Ribbon Edu's platform, advisors provide early, frequent, and differentiated coaching through a Growth Mindset lens. Our strengths-based real talk with real time data ensures that we support our nontraditional candidates, fostering a culture of trust, self-agency, and academic success.
