Abstract: Title: Is this too much pink? A maximalist's guide to office design that benefits advisors and students

The Disarm phase of the Appreciative Advising model emphasizes creating a safe, welcoming office environment. In this interactive workshop, participants will recognize how creating a welcoming space correlates with the wellbeing of both advisors and students. Participants will identify the key components of good office design: color, furniture placement, lighting, and personalization. Finally, they will collaborate with other participants to evaluate the design of their office and begin to develop a plan to redesign their own offices.
