Abstract: Recognizing, Responding, and Empowering: Trauma-Informed Pedagogies for Support Professionals:

The way our brains respond to stress and discomfort determines our abilities to cope. Trauma can have long-term impacts and has great effects on educational experiences and outcomes. We can lessen these effects by adopting trauma-informed pedagogies and implementing them into their everyday practices. In this session, we will dive into the Trauma-Informed and Sensitive Colleges (TISC) Model that will help us recognize, respond, and empower students and create a supportive educational environment for both students and educators.
