Abstract:
|
This session presents results and impact from a survey investigating job satisfaction factors among academic advisors, with a focus on the impact of pay versus remote work flexibility on their intent to remain in their roles. Participants will gain insights into advisor retention drivers, assess the study's relevance to their settings, and explore conducting similar surveys. The study, influenced by literature and previous findings, utilized a survey distributed to 310 advisors, yielding an 18.7% completion rate. An exploratory analysis identified significant predictors of retention intentions and an in-survey experiment verified the stronger influence of financial incentives compared to remote work on advisors' intent to remain. Qualitative analysis of open-ended responses highlighted themes like pay, work/life flexibility, and respect, corroborating the quantitative findings. This session will include dialogue on applying these insights to enhance advisor retention. |
