Abstract:
|
One of the most common concerns students share with advisors is apprehension toward graduation and what comes after. The distress surrounding this, is what encourages students to seek Academic and Career Advising. Career and Academic Advising go hand in hand as students prepare for their future after college. With this presentation, we aim to emphasize the importance of student's apprehensive feelings towards graduation, that is typically shared with advisors. Through our firsthand research we have identified critical resources students found beneficial and based on this, we hope to equip advisors with career centered approaches that help minimize student fears. Overall, with this initiative, we hope to bridge the gap between career and academic advising to ease graduation worry. It is always a beautiful day to help students! |
