Abstract: Helping Students Become Champions for their Own Majors: Creating Curricula for Liberal Arts Majors

Liberal arts education offers a diverse range of disciplines, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and interdisciplinary connections. However, in today's world, there's a growing need for liberal arts majors to advocate for the relevance and value of their chosen fields. This presentation details how one institution has begun to develop a curriculum that equips liberal arts majors with the skills and knowledge to become effective advocates for their disciplines. When students are empowered to articulate the significance of their learning, it not only helps their career pursuits; but supports the recognition of liberal arts education.
