Title: Enhancing Institutional Belonging through a Cohort-based Advising Model
A student's sense of belonging at their institution is a strong indicator of their future success, as it captures their feelings of inclusion, value, and support from their institution. This session will share a small, liberal arts institution's approach to enhancing student belonging on campus through our Pathways Program ®, a course-based advising model for first-year and sophomore students. We will provide examples of advising tools, classroom exercises, and facilitation strategies for building cohesive advising cohorts that can be adapted to varying advisor and cohort strengths. |
