Title: Dual Credit: Revolutionizing Education and Shaping the Academic Advising Landscape
Lead Presenter: Jamal Williams
Date: December 31, 1969    Time: 6:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Room:
Abstract: Dual Credit is rapidly becoming a prominent trend in education, involving eligible high school students enrolling in college courses and earning credit from their high school and college (Texas Education Agency, 2022). Texas is leading the way in this movement, with over 150,000 students participating in dual credit programs. As this trend continues to grow, more students are entering college with credits already earned, leading to changes in admission policies, financial aid practices, and advisor training. Academic advisors face more significant pressure to provide appropriate guidance, particularly to dual credit students, as they embark on their higher education journey with college credits.
