Enhancing Engagement: Redefining Orientation for the Virtual Era
Our goal of this presentation is to revamp how advisors conduct summer orientation in an engaging manner since the change to virtual orientation. Generation Z students are accustomed to online learning, but there are still problems in presenting information in an engaging manner that enables students to retain the material, making them most prepared to start college. This presentation looks at how first-year students in this generation may best retain the knowledge by creating an engaging, equitable, and effective learning environment that caters to the virtual era. A proposal for a new orientation design will be presented, including the findings from our assessment. Attendees will participate in engaging activities to increase awareness of various learning styles and how to create equitable learning opportunities for our students. |
