Abstract:

TITLE: Peer advising: How business students navigate leadership and mentorship
Academics have explored concepts related to student development for decades. Most notably, Chickering (1969), Schlossberg (1989), and Kohlberg (1984) studied the process in which college students evolve during their college experience. Less research has explored the role of student leaders and how that role positively impacts the lived experiences of those students. This poster presentation seeks to highlight a specific student leadership role (Undergraduate Peer Advisor) at OMITTED INSITUTION NAME. Results seek to highlight:
(1) Peer Advisor self-evaluation of individual growth and leadership as a result of their job responsibilities;
(2) the evaluation results from the undergraduate students in their courses. These findings will not only serve as valuable assessment data for our current program, but also to better inform the larger higher education and leadership academic field. |
